Release of the 2015 Celilo Vineyard!

Good day friends and family of Dowsett Family Winery,

We have a new offer for you. It is time to release the latest vintage of the Dowsett Family “Celilo Vineyard” Gewurztraminer.

With Thanksgiving coming, we wanted to provide you with the opportunity to have one of the wines that we feel pairs better than any other white wine with that festive meal.

The 2015 Dowsett Family “Celilo Vineyard” Gewurztraminer, Columbia Gorge is the 14th vintage that I have worked with this fruit, and the 19th vintage of working with Columbia Gorge Gewurztraminer. 2015 was a wonderfully warm year in the Gorge and Celilo nurtured some amazing fruit. We have let a bit of this wine slip to various press sources, and it has done very well. Sean Sullivan in The Wine Enthusiast gave this wine 91 points and an “Editor’s Choice”. This marks the eighth consecutive review from The Wine Enthusiast with 90 points or more. Great Northwest Wines gave this vintage their highest mark of Outstanding! And wrote “…whenever there is a discussion of Gewurztraminer in the Pacific Northwest, Chris Dowsett and his work at Celilo Vineyard warrant a spot at the dining table…”

We are truly excited about this wine. The warm years that have graced the Pacific Northwest in the recent vintages can really make the western Columbia Gorge shine. We get all of the beautiful acidity that the cool river and elevation provide, but with more intense fruit aromatics and richness the warm days provide. We have been slowly holding the Celilo Vineyard bottling longer to give a more integrated wine, with the characters that only bottle age can bring.

Our longer aging period has required us to raise the retail price slightly. For our mailing list members, we will hold a special rate of $19.00 per bottle until November 16th. After that date it will return to the new retail price of $24.00 a bottle. We continue to offer a 10% case discount on 12 bottles or more. We will offer free ground shipping on any orders of six bottles or more.

On the Wine Enthusiast Blog , Paul Gregutt recommended Oregon Pinot Noir Rose as his go to pick for the party season. “I often get asked to name my favorite wine. That’s an impossible task. But there is one style I tend to reach for on my way out the door to a party. That’s an Oregon Pinot Noir rosé. Why? Because it’s unexpected in so many ways. Many people don’t even realize there is such a wine, and despite the enormous popularity of rosés these days, the ones from Oregon remain insider wines. They are enormously versatile with food, unintimidating at a campsite or backyard party, complicated enough for a Thanksgiving spread, and they deliver quality far beyond their modest prices.”—Paul Gregutt, contributing editor

The final wine listed this release will be another chance at the 2017 Dowsett Family Georgia Rose Pinot Noir Rose “Becklin Vineyard” Oregon. We love Rose year round, and truly believe this Rose to be one that will be showing beautifully for the next six months and beyond. If any of you are interested, we will offer it to you at $15.00 per bottle until November 16th. Any combination of the two wines will be eligible for the discounts.

Please reply/email contact information with any requests, and we will reach you. We will begin shipping next week to make Thanksgiving deadlines.

We are currently able to accept American Express, MasterCard and VISA payments.

Thank you very much for your continued support and interest in our wines.
