Dowsett Family Winery offers three unique red wines; a Mourvedre, a Pinot Noir and a Two Magpies Red Blend comprised of Syrah and Mourvedre. Our Mourvedre and Red Blend and strictly Washington state red wines, with grapes sourced in state and processing completed at our facility in Walla Walla. Our Pinot Noir utilizes grapes from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, but is developed and bottled at our winery in Washington.

The Mourvedre is the star of our Washington state red wine selection. Our 2011, 2013 and 2014 vintages received high praise throughout the industry, making it one of the most acclaimed Washington state red wines during those years. We select the finest grapes from Heart of the Hill Vineyard in nearby Red Mountain, then process them by hand in small batches to create this rich, deep red. Our Red Blend joins the strengths of the Mourvedre with Columbia Valley Syrah to create a complex and enticing wine, inspired by head winemaker Chris Dowsett’s time in Australia. There are few Washington state red wine blends as compelling as Two Magpies.

Our Pinot Noir starts with Pommard Clone Pinot grapes grown in Oregon at Becklin Vineyards, which is owned and operated by Chris’s sister and her husband. This varietal is a principal of the Oregon red wine industry, and when developed in the careful hands of our winemaker, the results are an unforgettable glass. The critics agree, lauding the 2015 vintage among the best Oregon red wines of the year.
